Colette Water Bar
As it was my first trip to Paris, a stop at Colette, the trendy fashion boutique on rue Saint-Honoré, was not only exciting but necessary. It also happened to be a crowded Friday afternoon, so I decided to venture to the water bar downstairs in hopes that the store would clear out by the time I finished my lunch.
I was presented with a menu du jour (menu of the day) and decided to go with the croque madame. Although the bread was toasted perfectly, the cheese was a little bit too much for my taste as it oozed with every bite. Halfway through I was too full to take another bite, which was a shame because it was quite pricey. The salade it came with was layers of crispy iceberg lettuce that helped to balance the richness of the cheese, but it wasn't enough to make me excited to come back. Overall, a mediocre meal, but I loved the trendy ambience.
Be prepared for sightings of vintage Kelly's, chic outfits, and a young crowd.
